The information below is excerpted from a letter received by US mail that was
dated September 20, 2001,
and was on the Haley & Aldrich letterhead.
The letter also included contact information for the Cambridge Health Department
and contact information for W. R. Grace and for Haley & Aldrich.
"With the issuance of the Commissioner's Final Decision,
this letter is also to inform you of W.R. Grace's intention to begin Release
Abatement Measure (RAM) activities associated with excavation of a utility trench
at the W.R. Grace site (RTN 3-0277). At this time, soil-disturbing activities
are scheduled to begin during the week of 9 October 2001. Activities will be
conducted in accordance with the Commissioner's Final Decision, the Final Utility
Trench Excavation Release Abatement Measure (RAM) Plan/Asbestos Soil Management Plan
(3 May 2001), and the Final Addendum to Final Utility Trench Excavation Release
Abatement Measure (RAM) Plan/Asbestos Soil Management Plan (13 September 2001).
This notice is intended to satisfy the public notification requirements set forth
in the RAM Plan/ASMP and the Airborne Asbestos Management and Monitoring Plan
(AAMMP) dated April 2001. A copy of this letter has been placed in each of the
five repositories."
